i heart phoenix...

We just got back from a wonderful trip from Phoenix to visit my sister Marni and her husband Garrett and cute little Ellie and Zach.

When Marni picked us up from the airport we headed to my new favorite restaurant...a lovely little spot called Postino. The food is amazing! We started out with unique bruschetta...

from front to back....the crushed tomato...apple with fig spread and brie....mozzarella with tomato and fresh basil....and my personal favorite ~ the ricotta with dates and pistachio. yum. yum. yum.
Postino is a converted post-office with a very laid-back casual feel. I obviously didn't try the wine...but the food is amazing. Great panini sandwiches and a delicious raspberry chicken salad finished off our lunch.
We sat outdoor on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather...it felt great.
Little Zach and Stella had so much fun! Isn't he a cutie! I love this picture of him with his mommy! It was great for Marni and I to get to spend time together. We would load up the babies and head out for the day. We had many yummy lunches and hours of shopping.
These amazing cakes were in a store called La Grande Orange...

Jimmy got in plenty of golf and we had several delicious home-cooked meals courtesy of Marni and Garrett. We were able to eat out on the patio and Ellie showed me how to play "beach" and soak-up the sun in the backyard.
The little monkeys had a great time rolling around outside. They are such cute cousins!
On Saturday night we ate in Scottsdale at Maggiano's. yum. We had such a delicious family-style meal.
Zach, Garrett, Ellie and Marni ~ thank you all for such a fabulous trip!
Ellie is such a little sweetheart! She was very helpful with the babies and also taught me a lot of new information about bees...her new favorite interest. We love you Ellie!
On Sunday Garrett fixed a delicious gourmet breakfast of fruit, french toast and other delights. This was perfect for watching conference. While we watched conference we also crafted-up some really cute little gift boxes and hair pretties for Ellie.
I was very sad to leave Phoenix (on my birthday) but very happy because Marni treated me to a farewell meal at Postino's. Thank you so much!
We just had the best time....shopping, golfing, eating-out and just spending time with my beautiful sister and her adorable family. Love you guys....thanks again!

Heather, i saw that you read "The Time Travelers Wife" I just finished it & can't stop thinking about it! I am wondering how you felt about the ending. Really good book (struggled with the profanity, but couldn't stop reading). Anyways, just curious! Your trip to AZ looked fun. Isn't Stella at such a fun age. I LOVE it! She is darling.
